Attitudes Towards Online Payments In China
Online payment has long been daily procedure in western countries including the United States and most parts of Europe. However, the use of online payments is still not as popular as for Chinese due to its late development in China. The attitudes of Chinese towards using online payments are shown below, according to iResearch. This is still believed to be one of the obstacles in the growth of Ecommerce in China, besides the implementation of official regulations.
- Believe using online payments is great: 53%
- No comment: 38%
- Can live without online payments: 19%
Interestingly though, in the space of 4 years (from 2001 to 2005) the transaction volume of C2C Ecommerce in China has increased from 400 million yuan to 13.71 billion yuan.
