Baidu.com Highlights July 06

Baidu.com, the most popular search engine in China, has made some positive moves regarding blogging services, book search and one-to-one advertising in July.

  • Baidu launched its blogging service Baidu space on 13 July which is an obvious strategic move to ramp up the online society networking space in China.
  • Baidu signed an agreement with another China’s top library, Chinese National Science Library, to provide links to library’s database. In April, Baidu has already signed a similar deal with Peking University Library. With the 2 deals, Baidu will have the largest Chinese database of books in the world with 15 million books online.
  • Baidu also launched Focused-Advertising, which is one-to-one advertising based on user personalized surfing behavior. It is characteristics analysis and intention database.
