Chinese Programmers Hacked Skype Protocol
A group of Chinese programmers hacked the protocol of Skype, VOIP software and/or instant messaging tool, in July 2009 and security concerns were raised. An insider disclosed the objective for the Chinese programmers to crack/hack Skype’s code was not to pirate Skype, but to develop a free, more efficient, and safer P2P communication platform that will incorporate multiple protocols.
Skype has 280 million users globally.
Update: Skype launched Skypefind Service.
