eBay Paypal Vs. Google GBuy
eBay, the world’s largest online auction site, has finally made Paypal (online payment service) and Skype (Internet phone service and instant messenger) a lethal weapon since its acquisitions of the two services. New functions ‘Send Money’ and ‘Request Money’ have been added to Skype version 2.5. Apparently you can now send and request money via Paypal while chatting with the person on Skype.
This is a good sign of eBay in continuing to strengthen its number one status of an all-in-one online auction site. Google is expected to launched an online payment service (GBuy) which is speculated by many to be a Paypal killer. Google also owns Froogle, an eBay-like online shopping/auction site, which may be a real threat to eBay’s business.
