Google officially published an Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide, finally. The SEO Starter guide is a 22-page document in PDF format which can be downloaded here (*.PDF). The guide covers the aspects of SEO below:

  • Page title tags
  • Description META tag
  • URL structure
  • Site navigation
  • Quality content
  • Anchor text
  • Heading tags
  • Image optimization
  • Robots.txt
  • Rel=”nofollow” attribute
  • Site promotion
  • Webmaster tools
  • Web analytics

As the guide’s name suggested, it contains nothing new to savvy SEO professionals. However, it is definitely a good starting point for new webmasters to learn to do search engine optimization according to Google’s standards.
