		<description>Google have explicitly said that they do not use the Meta Description tag in their algorithm. 

While a good description tag (if used as the snippet) does lead to more clicks from the search results which would benefit the CTR of search results (although I&#039;m pretty sure Google have said they don&#039;t use that as a factor either).
