Matt Cutts Revealing 2007 Google SEO Changes
Earlier this year on his SEO blog, Matt Cutts revealed some important changes on Google organic search in 2007.
Update Frequency
The internal databases of Google will be updated once every 1-2 days instead of once every 3-4 weeks. This means more variance will be in the Google rankings for webmasters.
Google has always been revealing PageRank updates once every quarter to the public, but this will be changed. A new PageRank update will be introduced. This will not affect web page rankings in the SERP, as PageRank values have already been incorporated into the ranking algorithm beforehand.

Domain Geo-location
Google discovered there are more and more .com domains that are actually hosted outside of the United States. The necessary fix has been implemented. This means webmasters will start to see the ranking changes being affected by this fix.
File Type
Google is to change the current “filetype:”operator so it does not require an additional query word.
Supplemental Results
For those webmasters who have web pages in the supplemental results, it is because Google uses PageRank to determine if the web pages should appear in the regular index or supplemental index. On top of that, web pages in the supplemental results may have increase in traffic volume and there are constantly updates to the supplemental index.
I recommend reading one of my previous posts if you intent to avoid your web pages from getting into the Google Supplemental Index.
Overall
In the near future Google will make no major ranking updates in the SERP, as there will be no infrastructure related changes.
