PPC (Pay Per Click or Paid Search): You pay the PPC search engines who rank your webpage by placing a text ad within their ’sponsored link’ search results. PPC text ads mainly appear on the right hand side of the search engines, unless your ads meet certain requirements set by the PPC search engines. This is why PPC is paid search! PPC is a fast and effective method in ranking your webpages in major search engines and their partner network sites within minutes.
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation): It is also known as Organic or Natural Search. You apply techniques to your webpages (or optimise your webpages) so that the search engines rank your webpages. With SEO you cannot assure your webpage get ranked in the top 10 positions of the search engines, though there are optimisation methods (both on-page and off-page) that can get your webpage to near top positons.
