Linkedin SEO
I’m sure after Guy Kawasaki has revealed 10 good ways to use Linkedin profile on one of his recent blog posts, many people are already putting in some thoughts on how they can optimize their profiles and increase connections.
However, the one point I want to mention is that Kawasaki did mention the fact that search engine like Google loves to crawl Linkedin profiles. I performed several search queries on Google and many times I really easily found my own Linkedin profile, though only a short while ago I created my profile. For the purpose of demonstration, I used the two keywords below:
- Keyword 1: Linkedin Paid Search Marketing
- Keyword 2: Gordon Choi
I chose the two keywords above for these reasons:
- Paid search marketing is my profession and is one of my specialized fields.
- Obviously, Gordon Choi is my name.

Another true fact is that only by switching your profile to full view for public, Google can easily index it.
By the way, here is my Linkedin profile. If you’re interested in linking to me, send me a request from your Linkedin account to GordonPPC (at) gmail.com.

Guy’s post was pretty neat. Stuff I knew already, but it’s a good set of tips for most.
How do you choose key words for your linkedin profile?
Is there a keywords section built into LinkedIn?
If you are so good than why your PR is an usual one?
Why didn’t you have at least 5. That for shoure will impress me.
If you have your employee create another linked in profile, add your website, and connect to each other, google will like it better.
Thanks Gorden for this insight into Linkedin
