What is Evernote Dark Mode?
Evernote dark mode is the darker, higher-contrast color theme option of visual user interface on Evernote.
Evernote is a convenient note taking app or software tool which is available both as free tool or paid tool on different devices including Android, iPhone, iPad, Macbook, and Windows.
With the option to enable dark mode, Evernote may have made reading and typing a bit easier for users.

How to Enable Evernote Dark Mode?
The steps to enable/disable Evernote dark mode on each device is similar. The instructions per device are below:
Enable Evernote Dark Mode on Android
To enable dark mode on Android phones:
- Start/open Evernote by tapping the Evernote icon on your Android device.
- Open the menu by tapping the three horizontal lines i.e. the menu button.
- Next to the Dark Theme in the menu, toggle the switch to green.
Now Dark Theme is turned on.
To disable dark mode, toggle off the dark theme setting.
For your Android to use Dark Mode, your Android device must have Android 5.0 or above installed, with Evernote version 8.6 or above.
Enable Evernote Dark Mode on iPhone or iPad
To enable dark mode on iPhone phones or iPad tablets:
- Start/open Evernote by tapping the Evernote icon on your iPhone or iPad.
- Open the menu by tapping the three horizontal lines at the bottom left corner.
- On the menu, tap the gear icon at the top right corner.
- Tab Dark mode.
- On the next screen, check Dark mode.
Or check Use device setting, if you want your iPhone to automatically switch between Light theme and Dark theme (depending on the settings of your iPhone).
To disable dark mode, you will have to check Light mode.
For your iPhone to use Dark Mode, your iPhone must have iOS 13 or above installed, with Evernote version 8.17 or above.
Enable Evernote Dark Mode on Mac
To enable dark mode on Macbook:
- On the menu bar, click View, Dark Mode.
- Select Dark Mode.
To disable dark mode, you will have to switch to Light mode.
For your Mac to use Dark Mode, your MacBook must have macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or above installed, with Evernote version 7.6 or above.
Enable Evernote Dark Mode on Windows
To enable dark mode on Windows computers:
- On the menu bar, click View, Dark Mode.
- Select Dark Mode.
Enable Evernote Dark Mode on Web Browsers
Evernote Dark Mode is not available on the web version, i.e. through web browsers including Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, etc.
